Fireworks Regulations

Fireworks_WebConsumer fireworks are legal in the State of Maine, with the following exceptions:




- Missile type rockets are prohibited 
- Helicopters and aerial spinners are prohibited 
- Bottle rockets or sky rockets of any size are prohibited

Consumer fireworks may only be used between the hours of 9:00AM and 10:00PM, except that on the following dates they may be used between the hours of 9:00AM and 12:30AM the following day:

- July 4th
- December 31st 
- The weekends immediately before and after the above dates

Fireworks may only be purchased, handled, or used by an individual at least 21 years of age, and only on their own property (or with permission from the property owner). 

Towns have the ability to enact local ordinances in regards to fireworks. Please check with the fire department or police department in the town that you are in for specific local rules. At this time, Berwick does not have a local ordinance.
