BERWICK CHRISTMAS LIGHT DISPLAY & COLLECTION CENTER NOW OPEN

BERWICK CHRISTMAS LIGHT DISPLAY & COLLECTION CENTER NOW OPEN

During a year unlike any other where caring and sharing are so vital, the Bogdan family has once again stepped up to the plate.  Chuck, a member of Charles S. Hatch American Legion Post #79 and Pamela Bogdan have been creating large scale outdoor Christmas light displays since 1997.  Their displays get bigger and brighter every year, and this year’s display is the biggest and best yet and promises to delight parents, grandparents, and children alike!  Employing thousands of lights and ornaments collected over the years, you will see reindeer, penguins, peppermint canes and even a life-size animated Santa Clause at the Bogdan family compound (at the intersection of Rochester Street and Hubbard Road in Berwick).

This year marks the 6th year that the Bogdan’s have used their light display as a collection point for toys.  Since their very first display 23 years ago, Chuck and Pamela have also collected hundreds of pounds of food for several area pantries.  This year’s toy and food donations will be sent directly to the North Berwick First Baptist church for distribution to those in need and local people who are unable to leave their homes.

So, as you make out your list of things to do this holiday season, please add a trip to the Bogdan’s at the top.  Arm your kids with a toy or a can or two of nonperishable food for them to donate, then pull out your smart phone and make some memories.  Your kindness and generosity can make Christmas wishes come true and make the difference in the life of a young child and/or struggling family.  Toy and food donations will be accepted throughout the month of December and the light display will be brightly lit through the new year, so come on over!  What better way to spend your time this holiday season?
