Berwick unveils new branding at premier downtown summer concerts in August

[Berwick, Maine] – Envision Berwick are proud to present Bring Your Lawn Chairs to Sullivan Square on the lawn of Berwick’s town hall in Sullivan Square on August 3rd and 24th from 5 pm to 8 pm. The town festival will showcase local Seacoast bands Texas Pete, Terrie Collins Band, Big Picture Band, High & Dry and Andrea Szirbik Groft.

Envision Berwick expect the festival to serve as the inaugural event in an annual series of free concerts celebrating our community with a gathering of locals, townsfolk, and anyone else who loves great music, good times, and free fun. Jeremy Kasten, one of the event’s organizers, says that, “Bring Your Lawn Chairs to Sullivan Square is an important step toward establishing Berwick as a place for family fun and entertainment. This isn’t the biggest town festival in Maine this summer, but it might be the most charming. We aim to host an event that unites our local Seacoast towns. These towns share a common tradition of being both authentic and fun.”

Bring Your Lawn Chairs to Sullivan Square will feature live music, face painting, the tri-town bookmobile, an ice cream truck, a food truck, and Berwick-brewed craft beers from Corner Point Brewing Company.

The event will also serve as the launch of the town’s new branding and logo. A variety of Berwick town merchandise featuring the new logo will be available for purchase. There will also be t-shirts and stickers for the concert series.

Texas Pete is a new country and southern rock band from Southern Maine. Big Picture Band covers rock, pop, blues, and soul music. Terrie Collins Band covers rock hits from 1970 to the present, and High & Dry are a husband and wife music duo who play classic soft rock and contemporary acoustic. Andrea Szirbik Groft plays ukulele and acoustic guitar and is the perfect entertainment for children and families.

Pixels & Pulp, a Berwick- and Portland, Maine-based graphic design firm, was hired by Envision Berwick to develop a new logo and brand identity for the town. Pixels & Pulp specialize in branding, website design, campaign and event collateral design, and they have been working with progressive clients in the U.S. and abroad since 2008. Co-founder Elise Weeks has lived and worked in Berwick for the past eight years and was honored and excited to develop a new look and feel for the town. “I love Berwick. It’s a great place to live, work, and raise your kids. There’s a wonderful sense of community here,” says Weeks. “This is a great time to undertake this branding effort, not only for current residents and business owners alike, but for those who are potentially looking to put roots down here, too.”

Pixels & Pulp worked closely with Envision Berwick and local community members to ensure the design achieved the strategic goals of the town and captured the spirit of the community.

Berwick has been undergoing a substantial redevelopment planning process for a number of years. It’s an exciting moment to roll out new branding inspired by the vision and momentum of the town as it starts revitalizing the site of the former Prime Tanning Company, which comprised 11 acres of the central downtown area. The branding will be rolled out in phases to include new town signage, updates to the website and social channels, print collateral, apparel, and other promotional materials.
